Why choose an X-MET8000 XRF analyzer for this task?

The X-MET provides:

Ultimate performance for fast and reliable metals analysis

Extensive, customisable grade library for accurate alloy identification.

Ruggedness for low cost of ownership

Ease of use: minimal user training required

Versatile data management: store results on the analyzer, create test reports, or use our app and cloud service to manage your results on the go.

Handheld XRF for PMI Inspection

Positive Material Inspection (PMI) programmes allow plant operators and maintenance professionals to test critical process components before and after they are put in service to ensure assets’ integrity and prevent potentially catastrophic failures. The handheld X-ray fluorescence (HHXRF) is a PMI tester where you can determine alloys’ grade and chemistry in seconds, on-site. You no longer have to rely on suppliers’ certificates.

Why choose an X-MET8000 HHXRF analyzer for PMI inspection?

Ultimate performance for fast and reliable metals analysis: ensure materials meet specification

Extensive, customisable grade library for accurate alloy identification

Ruggedness for low cost of ownership

Ease of use: minimal user training required

Designed for the job: superb ergonomics for practical use, optimized design to test materials in hard-to-reach places (e.g. bends and corners)

Versatile data management: store results on the analyzer, download customised reports to a USB flash drive, or use our app and cloud service to store and share your data.

Handheld XRF for scrap metals and recycling

Over 400 million tonnes of scrap are processed each year. Sorting scrap metal through testing adds value at all stages of the metal recycling process, from sorting mixed scrap into low value and high value materials, to determining the composition of the scrap that goes into the melts and the quality of the output. Our X-MET analyzers are used worldwide in the scrap metal processing and recycling market to add value at every stage of the metal recycling process.

Why choose an X-MET8000?

Maximize productivity and profits through accurate alloy identification and chemistry (including the analysis of impurities and penalty elements)

Test alloys, spent catalytic converters, and other materials

Easy to use: ready to test in seconds; requires minimal user training

Built to last: IP54 rated (sealed against dust and splash water), and tested to MIL-STD 810G for ruggedness

Low cost of ownership: our optional window-shield protects the analyzer’s detector when measuring turnings and other sharp objects to prevent costly repairs

Powerful data management: store data on the analyzer, on a USB flash drive, or use our app and cloud service in real-time to share results with colleagues and buyers

Handheld XRF for mining

The X-MET8000 handheld XRF (HHXRF) analyzer delivers rapid, on-site geochemical analysis at various stages of the mining process, from the early stages of exploration through to environmental monitoring after site closure. This reduces the need for laboratory analyzes significantly, speeds the decision-making process and reduces testing costs.

Why choose the X-MET8000 Geo?

Superior performance: our revolutionary BOOST™ technology and large area silicon-drift detector provide up to 10 times the sensitivity of other HHXRF models, delivering the low limits of detection needed to measure pathfinders or penalty elements.

Fast analysis: measure up to 40 elements in seconds; complete testing programs quickly.

Rugged for low cost of ownership and minimum downtime.

Outstanding stability: results you can trust, day after day, whatever the weather.

Easy to use: minimum user training required.

Embedded GPS: combine geolocation coordinates with test results for flawless site mapping.

Powerful data management: print results as you go on a Bluetooth printer and attach them to sample bags to avoid mix-ups; export them to a USB device or use our app and cloud service to manage results in real-time, wherever you are.

Handheld XRF for soil

The contamination of soil has gradually been caused by human activity such as industrial processes (e.g. mining, manufacturing), agriculture (use of fertilizers and pesticides), or waste disposal (e.g. improper use of landfill).

Exposure to some of the contaminants such as Pb and Cd is detrimental to human health, and many countries have introduced regulations and programs to identify polluted areas and manage the clean-up process (remediation).

For example, as part of a US waste management program, the U.S EPA introduced Method 6200 for the in-situ determination of key elements in soil and sediment by field portable/handheld X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry.

Operators can use HHXRF for the rapid, on-site screening of soil for heavy metals and other pollutants. This enables them to dramatically reduce the number of samples sent to an off-site laboratory for analysis, and reduces analysis costs and the time it takes to complete the testing program. By isolating problem areas and defining remediation boundaries on the spot, operators can minimize soil treatment and disposal costs.

Why choose an X-MET8000 Expert Geo?

Superior performance: meet today and tomorrow's testing requirements with our revolutionary BOOST™ technology and large area silicon-drift detector. They provide up to 10 times the sensitivity of other HHXRF models, delivering the low limits of detection needed to measure critical elements (e.g. US EPA Method 6200 RCRA and priority elements) in soil, sludge and sediments

Fast analysis: complete surveys quickly

Outstanding stability: results you can trust, day after day, whatever the weather.

Rugged for low cost of ownership and minimum downtime

Easy to use: minimum user training required

Embedded GPS: combine geolocation coordinates with test results for flawless site mapping

Powerful data management: print results as you go on a Bluetooth printer and attach them to sample bags to avoid mix-ups; export them to a USB device or use our app and cloud service to manage results in real-time, wherever you are.

Handheld XRF for precious metals and jewelery

Handheld X-ray Fluorescence (HHXRF) analyzers are commonly used to test jewelery and other precious metal items (e.g. coins, silverware) to verify authenticity and determine monetary value. The high price of precious metals such as gold (Au) and platinum (Pt) means that a small difference in their contents means a large difference in the product’s value. HHXRF offers many benefits: it is fast, non-destructive (no scratch or damage to the tested item, no loss of material), and delivers multi-element analysis of large and small precious metals items.

 Why choose the X-MET8000?

Fast and accurate: high analysis throughput, for maximized productivity and profitability

Versatile: analyze valuable metals, impurities and toxic elements (e.g. Pb and Cd) to identify potentially harmful pieces

Fully portable: compact and light (1.5kg with battery), the X-MET8000 can be transported and used anywhere anytime. The light stand fits in the analyzer’s transport case.

Easy to use: intuitive user interface; minimum user training required

Optional integrated camera and small-spot collimator: know what you’re testing
