The Stratagene Mx3005P is a high-performance real-time thermal cycler designed to meet the current demands of laboratories for analytical precision, experimental versatility, and ease of use. The main strength of the Mx3005P lies in its ability to detect up to five fluorescent targets per well, thanks to its five independent optical channels with customizable filters. This efficient multiplexing enables users to optimize sample usage while significantly reducing the overall time required for detection processes.
Its optical architecture is based on a fiber-optic scanning system combined with a broad-spectrum halogen lamp, providing uniform excitation of each well in the 96-well block without the need for reference dyes. Emission signals are then collected and analyzed by a single photomultiplier tube, ensuring high sensitivity and low background noise. This results in a linear dynamic range of up to ten orders of magnitude, allowing precise quantification even for low-abundance targets.
On the thermal side, the Mx3005P utilizes an aluminum Peltier block designed to provide optimal uniformity and reproducibility from well to well. Temperature variations are tightly controlled, ensuring homogeneity that enhances the reliability of results, even during long or complex experiments.
The MxPro QPCR software simplifies plate design, thermal profile creation, and data analysis. It supports a wide range of analytical methods, including standard curve generation, efficiency calculation, relative and absolute quantification, as well as customizable report export.
